The Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE) project is an 8.6-kilometre extension of the Toronto Transit Commission’s Yonge-University-Spadina subway line from existing Downsview Station to the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre at Highway 7.
In 2011, The Anchor Shoring Group began construction of nine shoring projects along the TYSSE line.
Anchor provided up to 14 drill rigs simultaneously across multiple project sites drilling over 2,300 holes for a total drill length of 165,000 feet, or just over 50 kilometers and pouring over 16,000 cubic meters of concrete.

In many areas drilling was completed in close proximity to traffic, utilities and existing structures. Site conditions required close coordination and cooperation with general contractors, subcontractors, and adjacent property owners. In light of these challenges, The Anchor Group completed up to 8,345 feet of drilling and 111 holes per week with hole depths up to 110 feet and 1,500 mm in diameter.
